Visegrad and Western Balkan Connected through Social Entrepreneurial Ecosystems (SEE V4&WB)

The project aims to support the creation of supportive ecosystems for social enterprises in the Visegrad and Western Balkan. The key element of the project is to assess existing social entrepreneurial ecosystems by using an innovative methodology developed by the applicant ‘Youth Alliance Krusevo, (YAK)’ and use the findings to address the elements of the systems that need to be improved so that social enterprises can drive better in both regions. The project is based on the previous work on the issue of social enterprises as well as on the previous projects supported by the Visegrad Fund that the applicant with different partners representing WB6 and V4 countries realized. Through the previous work on the topic of social enterprises and cooperation with the V4 countries, we understood that social enterprises need to be supported in a more complex way and that to create an environment supporting not just creating social enterprises but especially ensuring their sustainability, we need to be able to increase our understanding of the different elements that are having an impact on the whole ecosystem of social enterprises. Nevertheless, current practices in the Visegrad and Western Balkan are missing a holistic approach and that’s the key issue that we aim to change: by using the methodology the better understand the complexity of the system and be able to advocate and lobby for changes that can improve elements of the systems and make social enterprises in both regions drive.

The project is implemented by Youth Alliance - Krusevo in partnership with CDP Globus (Bosnia and Herzegovina), Forum for Civic Initiatives (Kosovo), Center for Youth Education (Montenegro), Mission: Recconect (Czechia), Slovak Open Solidarity (Slovakia), FISE (Poland) and Foundation for Sustainable Enterprises (Hungary). The project is co-financed by the Governments of Czechia, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia through Visegrad Grants Program from International Visegrad Fund. The mission of the fund is to advance ideas for sustainable regional cooperation in Central Europe.
